    Experiencing Life

I have a passion for experiences! I've loved producing events because it's an opportunity to create a unique, short-term experience that transports audiences to a temporary world filled with new people, new ideas, new goals, and great outcomes! I love live music because every show is unique - the performers, the audience, the venue, and the songs. When it's all mixed and stirred together, the magic that this combination creates is often transformative. I love social marketing because we have the opportunity to tell our stories in real-time, allowing others to participate in our experiences with us!

    Saving Our Planet

There is nothing more important than saving our oceans, forests, skies, and land right how. The climate crisis isn't a fictitious event that might occur in the future. We're living through it now, with millions of acres scorched by wildfires, a global health crisis, and our natural resources being depleted at alarming rates. Collectively, we've lost sight of the abundance our earth gives us to nourish and fortify our existence. But, our continued use of harmful chemicals and hard and soft products like plastic bags and water bottles is choking marine life and creating hundreds of thousands of acres of trash and non-biodegradable product clusters floating on the surface of the ocean. I'm committed to making changes in my life that support a more sustainable and eco-friendly way of living. I'm also committed to learning more about climate science and supporting organizations that are leading the charge to make quick and effective changes to reduce our disastrous impact on our beautiful planet.

The heart of my work has always centered on helping companies deliver the best experiences they can. I love using integrated marketing approaches to help convey product and company stories.

    Wisk.Aero

    Marketing Consultant

Contracted to help this, at-the-time, stealth electric point-to-point commuter airline rebrand itself and announce strategic partnerships and investors. One of the highlights of the rebranding campaign was the company name reveal and celebration in the airport hangar where the planes were flight-tested. The company had done such an excellent job keeping the new name from being "leaked" that during the moment of the big reveal there was an audible gasp of surprise and excitement by the 200 employees.

    OpenGov, Inc

    Head of Event Marketing

At OpenGov, as the Head of Event Marketing, I was hired to rebuild the event marketing organization for this 3-year-old startup. I spearheaded all external event marketing activities to support the sales pipeline and managed all corporate events, conferences, and trade shows in addition to designing and building a new trade show booth property. In addition, while Redwood City was delighted to have OpenGov move into their worldwide headquarters in their town, I orchestrated all aspects of an open house celebration that included a ribbon-cutting with the Mayor of Redwood City, as well as high-profile VC investors and municipal government employees.

    Branding | Copywriting

    Co-founder, Waiting on the Band

    >> A passion project that began with a Facebook group has quickly grown into a much-loved community of live music fans. I co-founded the Facebook community "Waiting on the Band" which connects live music fans to share their concert experiences. Currently, the group boasts 3,000+ engaged members with 240+ posts and 9,000+ reactions since October 2023. We initially created awareness of the group by handing out branded stickers at concerts. A fun outcome has been seeing members post pictures of finding the stickers adhered in random places worldwide.

    >> I've provided copywriting for event marketing and communication projects for most of my career. For a special freelance writing project, I ghost-wrote a biography about an Orange County business owner for a book showcasing business leader philanthropists. The coffee table book is called, "On Purpose, Celebrating Leadership with a Cause."

    >> Many people wonder what it would be like to spend a week following their favorite band on tour. I wrote a week-long experiential blog (firefromtheice.com) chronicling the experience. One of the ways I promoted the blog was by engaging in mini-converstaions on Twitter with a couple of the band members while they traveled from city-to-city on the tour bus. Our conversations were followed by fans who became curious about the blog. The blog received 540 unique visitors in the first three days after the launch and won recognition as the featured Blog of the Month by BlogHer.

    Creative Marketer with Over

    20 Years of Experience

For over two decades, I've had the honor of helping Fortune 500 and startup technology companies bring their marketing program visions to life, both as an employee and as a contractor. I've enjoyed helping organizations tell their product stories live events, trade shows, conferences, roadshows, product launches partner programs, and corporate events. In my opinion, the key to a successful program is what happens behind the scenes during the planning process. This is where my years of project management and organizational skills really shine. My superpower is being a problem-solver. I combine this with budget and timeline management expertise to keep a project humming and poised for a successful outcome. If you're looking for someone to herd the cats, tame the lion, or diplomatically write that sticky situation email, you've come to the right place. Plus utilizing critical thinking, a can-do attitude and having fun are just side benefits I include with each project.
